First Connection- Kochi Muziris Biennale

I was extremely excited when I realized that my trip to India coincided with India’s first ever biennale.  Even better, it was within driving distance from where I was staying.

A biennale is a large art exhibit that occurs once every two years.  It is something of a world fair showcasing the present genius of contemporary artists on an international scale; a here in the now of art.

Intangible emotions, concepts, and perceptions are expressed through art.  Making a connection with a piece is similar to making a friend.  Sometimes the attraction is based on commonalities.  At others the draw is inexplicable.  Art is a form of energy reaching out from one being to the next.
